Flixton Manor is looking for volunteers who wish to make a difference to our residents daily lives. We know that residents respond really well to close conversation and contact and with the financial demands on care home, we can simply not afford the staff resources to ensure that our residents receive close one 2 one conversation for more than an hour a day. Visiting family members contribute greatly to this but not all our residents have family that can visit them daily. Flixton Manor is about to install a brand new state of the art nurse call system. Aidcall is one of the leading manufacturers of nurse call systems in the UK and their latest range has the many new advantages that will enable us to provide, monitor and deliver even more efficiencies in care. One of the advantages is the ability to track calls and analyze data that will inform us how fast we are responding to residents when buzzing for carers and nurses. Flixton Manor announced that it would be moving onto a brand new state of the art care management system back in November 2009. We are now pleased to announce that we are fully up and running with our new caresys management software. Thanks to Miraj in the caresys support team, we have overcome hurdles and obstacles along the way and are proud of how quickly our nursing and administration staff have taken to the system. Flixton Manor is always looking to improve the quality of life for our residents. After a careful study we have identified 5 key points for each resident that would bring more pleasure into their lives. We took into account their own individual interests and have brought in new ideas of how we can accommodate these personal interests through the care that we provide. Some of the ideas included a Nintendo Wii, mp3 players, a karaoke machine and other activities that cater to their personal preferences. Read more...

It really is an exciting time to be a part of Flixton Manor. We have recently received plans approved for 6 new en-suite rooms that we plan to have available for Christmas 2010. The bedrooms will all be fitted with flat screen TV's and there will be the option to subscribe to SKY. The 1st floor rooms will have great views over the park and William Roe Golf Club.
