Quizzes
All our residents enjoy the General Knowledge quizzes
that are a regular feature within Flixton Manor.
These sessions are once a week, however more often when
requested.
These sessions are held in the main lounge where
residents are invited to shout out the answers. This usually involves some
refereeing as to who got the answer first.
Sometimes depending on the season, the quiz’s are themed
e.g. Macmillan’s Big Blooming Tea Party, where friends and relatives are also invited along for a small
donation, to join in and try to win the prize of the day. The donations are then sent
to Macmillan. These afternoons are always a great success and a good time is had by
all.
Other examples of themed quizzes that we have had in the
home are:
-
The Easter Quiz and Easter Bonnet
Parade
-
Wimbledon Quiz with tea, scones and strawberries /
cream
-
Halloween Quiz with fancy dress and spooky
treats
Some of our residents
are real Brain Boxes and have a wide and varied knowledge which they enjoy sharing.
The quizzes certainly show us younger ones a thing or two
about how little we actually know.
